Meet Me Where I'm At is a brand new training via Zoom by Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant, Cara Erude!
The "Meet me where I’m at" training is specifically tailored to address the unique needs of caregivers seeking to forge deep and meaningful connections with the children under their care. The concept of meeting a child where they are encompasses more than just physical presence and eye contact; it also encompasses an understanding of the child's cultural background and cognitive abilities. By engaging with the child on a cultural level and inquiring about their home activities, caregivers can make valuable strides in connecting with the child. Additionally, the training emphasizes the importance of catering to children with diverse learning styles, ensuring that each child's individual needs are met. Building a strong foundation in understanding and rapport with the child will facilitate daily connections, minimize challenging behaviors, and foster meaningful relationships with families, colleagues, and of course, the children themselves.
